THE RED POINT & TORTIE POINT SIAMESE CAT CLUB

Tributes

Edna Cahill

The Club is devastated to announce the passing of our President Edna Cahill on 16th December 2022, aged 91.

Although frail she kept in touch and indeed submitted a short seasonal message to all our Members which you will find in our 2022 Journal.

It is hard to imagine the Club without her support and obvious pleasure in all things red series.

Rest in Peace dear Edna.

Glenda Ford

The Club are saddened to hear of the death of our former Chairman Glenda Ford.

Glenda became a member of the Club in 1975 (and a Life member in 1982) and worked tirelessly for the The Red Point and Tortie Point Siamese Cat Club o'en manning the Club Table at Shows, fundraising as well as helping out at the Breed 32 Show (when the Club shared Shows with TPSCS).

Glenda successfully bred under her Marilane prefix, which will be at the back of all the Red series Siamese pedigrees today, and was probably most famous for her tortie point male stud cat Ch and Pr Marilane Harlequin, born in 1980 and although he bred as a seal point he had very definite tortie markings including a distinctive blaze.
‘Hal’ became quite famous , being a one-off at that "me and appeared in an article in The Telegraph entitled ’Two-tone trousered’ cat!
